Indian Marriages.

"Match made in Heaven" goes the saying. I am not here discussing on the credibility of that quote. But indeed, I would like to discuss on the Marriages made in India.
Indian Weddings are an occasion which is done with so much pomp and ceremony that the whole family is burdened by it.But just before that, comes a worse situation which brings so much embarrassment atleast to me.

It so happened on 29 July 2010, my friend(Quite a young girl) was undergoing this process on "match finding". The "Boy"  wanted to see her and speak with her before the "Major" talks with her parents go on. So he came to  office after informing her and her parents who live outside the state which we we staying in. My friends mother was so nervous that she shot her with a stream of instruction on how to  behave.
  1.  Don't speak in english.
  2.  Don't laugh loud (So how to know if the person is fun to be with)
  3.  Just Smile sweetly.
  4.  Don't Talk Much (So what is the point of meeting)
  5.  Don't tease him
  6.  Just smile away to tricky questions.

In short just be dumb.
to carry on with the incident, she had asked me to accompany her for the meeting. The guy had informed that he was coming with some "chechi" (sister). So we were expecting a boy and a girl. A pair was coming towards us. mmm... The boy was not so appealing. Our hearts missed a beat... and both of us were hoping so fervently that it should not be them that we were waiting for. Our prayer was heard. They passed by us. Again there were another couple walking towards us. This time the girl was dressed so funny that we had to smile in an intense situation. They walked by us too. huh what a relief.
Then a family came with the guy dresses up all neat( quite good to look at) walked up to us and spoke with us.I knew from the first looks that he was a nice person to be with and pretending very hard to look serious  We found a place to sit and "spoke" ( quite embarrassing for me at least. I have not gone through accompaniment marriage proposal )
While this was happening, I turned back to six years before, I was reminded when my mother gave me the same instructions, Was reminded that I was not accompanying but I was in my friends shoes,I had to act dumb.
Ok. So now, If I had not acted as per my mom's instructions.......? Well, I would not have posted the picture above.

The Language Love

Work is hard in the afternoons, especially when it is a long and heavy lunch, and it is harder when other team members have work while you can afford to laze around a bit.

Sundeep and myself could afford a little timeout from work. When we take our time outs we do ask each other all the worthless things that could really relieve you of all the stress.

It was one of those days, when Sundeep asked " What is for 'Buffalo' in Tamil.?" I , without any hesitation said "கழுதை"(Donkey in Tamil).Sundeep, is basically from Andra and does not know Tamil( I had no intention of misguiding him, I was simply wrong). Being a Tamilian,I was really proud that the letter "ழ" exists only in Tamil and  no other Indian Language has it. Karthik sitting behind be with all his busy schedule turned with a 'I dont believe this' WHAT.......
Every one laughed.... I realised I should have said "எருமை".

The Tap

September 12 2009
Party location: Vinodhini's Residence,Pallavakkam.
Occasion: Vinodhini's B'day.

I had chicken and there was the taste lingering masala in my fingertips. Karthik was behind me waiting to wash off his hands too. I was done washing my hands.... closed the tap and walked away giving room for Karthik -"The PFS Lead- Chennai", He was done, closed the Tap and said "Priya you are drunk" every ones eyes was on me, he proceeded " You did not close the TAP" I looked up at karthik and then at the tap and exclaimed " And so are You Karthik". We had a great laugh while, the water from the tap was still flowing.......

Sensational Sensex

Although there were a lot of things that I would indulge in, Business was definitely not one of them.
A week earlier I had opened a demat account. It was Friday 20 Nov 2009,while going out for work I had decided that i buy shared from 'UniTech' since it showed some prospects of moving up in the market.
I had placed the order for 80 when it was way up at 82.5 and the price seemed to have resistance at 80 when it dropped to 79.5, I quoted the price at 77.25 and waited- went away fro lunch and..... forgot as all newbies that i was trading for the first time in life. I had a good lunch and came to my seat prepared for the afternoon walk with the girls.. when karthik said "Priya I guess you missed the buy" - cause the price had risen from 79 to 82.25 again. :( was disappointed that I had missed my very first buy, though sad at the small corner of my heart that I could not buy for that day since market was near to its close, I said cheerfully,"Ok Karthikgaru...we'll make it next time". Went to my seat.... and checked the way the market price of Unitech was rising,OKkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk... this was real disssssapointing..... FINE ...... Lets make it later.......
I logged into the trade terminal to logout from it as i was not going to trade today and there was no point in keeping it open. Something looked different...... there on the monitor flashed a word that I had never seen before "Fully Executed".
"Karthik... What is this......??????" was my expression....
"O DON'T TELL ME....... It's executed...." that was karthik.... in all surprises
I said "Now what does that mean"
He simply said... "You have just bought the share at the days low, and Ur making good profit"
WOW..... I had just done my first trade......
